BRUNDAGE MOUNTAIN EXTENDS SEASON THROUGH END OF APRIL, POSSIBLY BEYOND
BRUNDAGE MOUNTAIN EXTENDS SEASON THROUGH END OF APRIL, POSSIBLY BEYOND Bonus Weekends Added April 17 & 18, April 24 & 25 McCall, ID - A huge blast of fresh powder has blessed Brundage Mountain with some of the best snow conditions of the entire season, and the McCall, Idaho ski area now plans to stay open on weekends AT LEAST through the end of April. Brundage Mountain plans to be open seven days a week through April 11, and has now added two Bonus Weekends to the season, Saturday, April 17th and Sunday, April 18th as well as Saturday, April 24th and Sunday, April 25th. Snow conditions and snow depths at Brundage Mountain are the best theyve been all season. The resort has had 38 inches of fresh snow since March 21st, more snow than it got for the entire month of February! The base now measures 65-87 inches, and mid-winter snow conditions exist both on the groomed runs and off trail in the powder. Apparently, Winter decided to show up late this year, said resort spokesperson, April Russell. So weve decided to stay open late so our visitors dont miss out on the excellent skiing and riding this spring. With the new snowfall and recent low temperatures, resort operators are confident that slope conditions will remain favorable into late April, and possibly into May. Brundage Mountain will be assessing snow conditions and visitor interest in the coming weeks in hopes of adding even more bonus weekends. Exciting events and savings planned for April 10 & 11 Whether youre into old-school racing or new-school tricks, theres something for you next weekend at Brundage. The MSRT Marathon is a 2+ mile race down Brundage Mountains longest green run. The challenge is to keep up your speed on the flats and make it to the bottom! Proceeds from this event benefit the McCall Ski Racing Team. The Brundage Cup Freestyle Jam Final will also be held on Saturday, April 11 and is the culmination of a season-long series in the re-vamped Brundage Mountain Terrain Park. Sunday, April 11th, Brundage introduces a brand new event, the Snow Battle. Its like a paint-ball war but with snowballs flying instead of paint! Sunday, April 11th is also a Second Sunday Pass Holder Bonus Day. That means Brundage Mountain Season Pass Holders can bring a friend for free, and Bogus Basin Pass Holders will enjoy half-priced lift tickets. Full details are available at www.brundage.com.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT KEEPS BRUNDAGE MOUNTAIN WINTER GAMES TRADITION ALIVE
McCALL, Idaho - The countdown is on for the 2010 Winter Games! The statewide competition was canceled more than a year ago due to a lack of financial support, but thanks to the help of local community members, Brundage Mountain will be hosting its 20th Annual Winter Games competition this year on February 27th and 28th."We want to thank Sterling Savings Bank and the McCall Ski Racing Team for stepping up with financial and volunteer support to keep this family event alive for yet another season," said Brundage Mountain spokesperson April Russell. While the Brundage Mountain Winter Games tradition is in its 20th year, there are two exciting new features added to this year's competition.Friday, February 26th, Brundage will host an "Olympic Pride Party" for US Olympic Slalom Skier, Hailey Duke. Hailey competed on the McCall Ski Racing Team from 1993-1997, when her father Larry was the coach of the team. Hailey was also a repeat gold medalist at the Winter Games. (See photos attached). Brundage is hosting a party in Smoky's Pub starting at 10:00 am for fans to gather and watch Hailey's Olympic race on the big screen. Full details: http://www.brundage.com/?m=20100226&cat=3 Brundage Mountain is also adding a Torchlight Parade to this year's Winter Games celebration. It will be held Saturday, February 27th just after dark. More details: http://www.brundage.com/3279/torch-light-parade/ "Winter Games is such and amazing family tradition for generations of Idahoans," said resort spokesperson, April Russell. "It's hard to forget the feeling of standing on a podium with a medal around your neck in front of a cheering crowd. Participating in a torchlight parade is equally unforgettable." Saturday events include: Children & Juniors Recreational Alpine Giant Slalom (3-18 year olds), Mitey Mite Giant Slalom, and Physically Challenged Giant Slalom. Sunday events include: Adult Recreational Giant Slalom, Mitey Mite Slalom, and Physically Challenged Slalom. A full schedule of events and on-line registration is available at: http://ww.brundage.com/3277/brundage-winter-games/ Brundage Mountain was the birthplace of the Winter Games of Idaho when the event was created in 1990. Organizers of the state-wide games announced in November of 2008 that they would no longer be able to hold the traditional state-wide events, due to an economic downturn affecting sponsorship. Brundage Mountain Introduces the Learn to Ski Guarantee
Brundage Mountain Introduces the Learn to Ski Guarantee Learn to ski "worry-free" with unlimited beginner lessons McCALL, ID - Brundage Mountain Resort is reaching out to attract new people to the sport of skiing by offering a revolutionary new program designed to ensure that they'll learn to ski. The program is being launched in conjunction with national "Learn a Snowsport Month". For a single package price of $149, prospective skiers aged 11 and up can take as many beginner lessons as they choose this season in order to master the basics of skiing. They are also provided with rental gear for these lessons at no additional charge."We want to take the risk out of learning to ski," said resort spokesperson, April Russell. "Different people learn at different paces, and it's important to know that you can come back for as many lessons as you need without shelling out more money each time." Participants must sign up and take their first lesson before the end of January. Subsequent lessons can be taken any time during the remainder of this winter season at no extra charge. The program is designed to teach people to stop, turn and ride the chairlift at the beginner level, even if that takes several two-hour lessons. "Our snowsports instructors are passionate about sharing the mountain experience with our guests. It's one that everyone should have. The Learn to Ski Guarantee is the perfect way for us to express this commitment," said snowsports director, Seth Jacobsen. Once the new skiers have completed the Learn to Ski Guarantee program, they'll have the option of purchasing a second package for $199 that gets them three more lessons at the next level, and a 2009-2010 Winter Season Pass. KIDS ART CAMP - BRUNDAGE
Scenic Brundage Mountain is the backdrop for a unique and affordable program that combines art education and outdoor exploration at its finest. Children ages 8 - 12 will learn art techniques like Gyotaku and tye-dye through guided discovery.

An experienced children's art instructor will introduce the children to a variety of art mediums, and the classes will also take campers outdoors to learn about the mountain environment and get a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of chairlifts and snowcats.

"Our goal is to offer an affordable way for children to get in touch with the natural environment and explore their own creativity,-said program director, Shayne Large.

The program costs just $20 per child and lasts for four hours on two consecutive Saturdays. There are two sessions to choose from, and all art supplies are included in that fee.

"It's easy to draw inspiration from the beautiful mountain setting,- said instructor Jennifer Church. "And we'll be sending the campers home with personalized works of art, which will include gyotaku tote bags, tie dye t-shirts and nature portraits and prints.-

Jennifer Church is a mural artist with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design. Jennifer has offered many art lessons in the area, both at the Kaleidoscope Children's Art Festival and Creative Campus.
